Pupunha:
It is a small, conical fruit whose colors range from yellow to reddish orange. Pupunha grows on tall palm trees and have only one, big seed inside its edible pulp, quite similar to peach. It is rich in Vitamins A and C, and can be cooked or eaten raw.
Tucumã:
At the first glance, this fruit is similar to a persimmon in size and color that ranges from yellow to dark red-orange. Its pulp is quite thin, but has a distinct flavor. Tucumã is rich in Vitamin A that is much more than the normal avocado.
Pitomba:
A tangy fruit, it is a rage in the region and is popular for its golden pulp and tart flavor. Pitomba is traditionally used in producing jams and jellies, and the well known soft drinks in the area use its flavor.
Cupuaçu:
This fruit resembles the kiwi due to its brown, fuzzy outside but its flavor is closer to cacao. Actually, cupuaçu is normally substituted for cocoa in local recipes. It is mainly used in dessert and other sweet dishes.
Açaí:
The most popular fruit of this region, açaí is a small, purple berry grown on rainforest palm trees, and the pulp and juice find various uses. Brazilian stores stock Açaí juice drinks, soft drinks, protein bars, candy and entrees topped with the flesh. Don’t eat berries right away from the tree. Açaí gives the body essential vitamins and antioxidants.
