Building your Upper Body
 
 
 
Many of us in the beginning are more occupied with building the upper torso and do exercises, which are done in haphazard manner. This reduces the effectiveness so the workout and slows down your progress. Although, the lower part of the body is equally important while bodybuilding, very few of us focus on that aspect. This approach should be done away with and you should focus on all parts of your body while working out.

To begin, when we talk about the upper part of your body it mainly involves your chest, back, shoulders and arms and forearms. Your chest and back have bigger bulkier muscles and you can pull of heavier weights when compared to the arms. However, your biceps show results faster than most of the other muscle groups. Make sure you know the correct technique of working out each group. In case you don’t, take the help of your instructor and he will be glad to help you out.

Do repetitions around 12-15 per set and in case you can manage to pull off more, you need to increase the weights. Do as many as 3-4 sets at least for each group of muscles. One thing you must remember is to decide whether you want bulk or definition. For leaner muscle mass, you should do more reps with lesser weights and to get bulk, it is better to do fewer reps with heavier weights. Rest that group of muscles for a day atleast before you work them again. This gives them a chance to grow and remove the waste products that accumulate in them.

It is better to keep your exercise regime of everyday a little varied. This will remove the boredom that may occur due to routine and keep your muscles on their toes.
