Cause of Toe Nail Fungus

Fungi are of varying types, bread attracts green fungus, and oranges catch a green or blue one. Milk is made into cheese courtesy a fungus and wine and beer too are made using friendly forms of fungus. Toenail fungus is a common ailment. They habituate the dead skin cells of the body and depend on Keratin for their survival. Keratin is present in hair and nails. They either infect humans or animals or both. Some fungi are present in the mud and decaying organic matter. These too can lead to toenail infection. Thrush, a fungal infection of the mouth and infections in women too are caused by these dermatophytes.

Fungi await a favorable opportunity to strike. Feet that often sweat and are not aired tend to get warm and moist. This is an open invitation, as is damaged external skin. If you have diabetes, have got a transplanted organ or are a drug addict, then in all likelihood your body's immune system will not be able to ward off an attack by these fungi.

You can detect toenail fungus by observing the color of your toenails. It becomes either brown or yellow. The nails become double their size and brittle. Fungus acts on the nail protein and damages the tissue surrounding it. The affected part then begins to pain. It is best detected and remedied as early as possible.
