Citroen C5 - French Sedan

C5 is the large sedan car for adults who love the French style car design. The exterior of C5 is quite unforgettable and regal. Large front lights use the aerodynamic theory and gives you the exotic feeling. Also Front Citroen logo, hood, fender and front bumper are designed to give the car a chic look. This is the French method of combining traditional look with the modern one.

C5 was first introduced by Citroen in 2003 after spending 6,900 million franc for R&D and the marketing. The C5’s factory is on Rennes-la-Janais of France and manufactures 920 cars daily. It develops a new platform after every 3 years. C5 uses the latest design technology and follows the rigid safety and environment standards. The suspension kit uses the 3rd generation Hydrative system from Citroen to lower the vibration properly and provides improved road surface gripping.

There are 3 versions of engines available for C5. The first option is the V6 benzene engine with 3,000cc plunger’s capacity and 24 valves. It produces 152 Kw or 210 Hp. powers at 6,000 rpm, 285 Newton-meters or 30 kilogram-meters torque at 3750 rpm and 232 Km/Hr maximum speed. The unique feature of this engine is VTC (Variable Timing Camshaft) system that regulates open-close degree of valves by increasing rate and engine’s cycle.

The next option is the benzene straight engine with the capacity of 2,000cc plunger and 16 valves. It produces 100 Kw or 138 Hp. powers at 6,000 rpm, 190 Newton-meters or 19.8 kilogram-meters torque at 4,100 rpm and 202 Km/Hr maximum speed.

The final option is the 2.0 HDi diesel engine with high pressure diesel injection system and common-rail nozzles. It produces 80 Kw or 110 Hp. powers at 4,000 rpm, 275 Newton-meters torque at 1,750 rpm and 188 Km/Hr. maximum speed. The direct-injection with common-rail high pressure pump is regulated by ECU and the Variable Geometry Turbo Charger for improved performance on each speed and lowering the gasoline consumption b 20%. The other benefit of C5’s diesel engine is the low noise similar to benzene engine. Besides HDi engine offers improved responsibility than the previous model as the gasoline is fed as per the engine requirement.

Besides the 3rd generation Hydractive suspension kit was introduced by Citroen for better vibrate reduction, road surface gripping and driving performance. It coordinates the electronic devices that are regulated by computer unit and the enhanced hydraulic system. There are 4 modes for proper functionality: H mode for the wheel changing, P mode for the hitch crossing, N mode for the normal driving and B mode for the high-loading.
