Dark Spots and Skin Pigment Treatment
If you have a brownish skin discoloration or blemish on your skin, it is called as skin pigmentation. Age spots, sun spots, liver spots, freckles, and lentigos are various kinds of skin pigmentation. It occurs when your body secretes excessive melanin, which blacken the skin. People suffering from this skin condition choose skin pigment dark spots treatment.
The normal treatment for this skin problem is Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL), a type of laser. It can cure sun damaged skin. It functions by eliminating the layer of bumpy pigmentation. This leads to production of new pigment giving you a lighter tone. You see quicker results as against other treatments. But you should remember that it carries some risks. In specific instances, it can worsen your pigmentation. Scarring may also occur but rarely. After treatment with laser treatment, you should spend some time to recover after the surgery. As this treatment is riskier and costlier, use it as the last resort after all other methods don’t give results.
Another traditional treatment for dark spots is hydroquinone cream. It can lighten the dark skin tone thereby hiding your skin problem. But it can lead to skin irritation and redness if used in very concentrated format. You are also likely to suffer from a rare disease known as ochronosis, a blue-black skin problem. Don’t apply it on blemishes.
Many sufferers of hyperpigmentation still continue to use chemical peel. It will cause a burning sensation post-treament, which is normal. The ingredient of this peel is glycolic acid with tri-chloro acetic acid that lighten the dark spots. The treatment should be continued for nearly 3 weeks before the results become evident.
Hyperpigmentation occurs when excessive melanin is produced. It normally those having
darker skin. But at times, even those with fair skin can be affected. Most of the skin pigment dark spots treatment may use skin whitening creams. Some of them contain natural ingredients that have the same effect as hydroquinone. They can reinstate the skin’s color quite nicely.
