Dry Carpet Cleaning

When you can clean the carpet without using any solutions or cleaning liquids, it is called dry carpet cleaning. This will not dampen the moisture that remains after cleaning. Carpets made of very fine fibers can be cleaned using dry technique to avoid damage. It is a simple process of using a powder as a cleaning material and a solvent. The solvent can be sprayed or sprinkled on the carpet and then brushed evenly on the upper and lower surface. Then the carpet is left alone for 30 minutes or more according to the company product to allow the cleaner and solvent to do their job. The solvent will attract dirt and is dissolved in the solvent. Then the carpet is vacuum cleaned to remove this dirt.

This is a popular method to clean the carpet as the risks are much lower. But always observe the instructions given by the manufacturer. This will help you clean the carpet properly if the manufacturer has advised it. If the recommendation is not to use this method opt for the other methods as this method will not clean the carpet properly.

You need to follow some cautions before using this method. Remove any dry residue that remains on the carpet after drying of spilled liquids. Check out the presence of any solids on the carpet surface as they might be dissolved in the solvent after it is sprayed, thus escalating the damage.

Dry the carpet as far as possible before commencing the process. Absorb any spilled liquid with cotton wool or soft kitchen towel or paper. Any moisture present will dilute the effects of the powdered detergent and thus will not clean the carpet properly. Removing the stains before dry cleaning will remove the risk of the stains re dissolving and damaging the carpet when the powdered-mixed solvent is sprayed.
