Effectiveness of Electronic Acupuncture
The concept behind electronic acupuncture is to increase stimulation to the accurately situated acupuncture points with the help of tiny electrical currents that can be fixed right away to the needles put into the skin. In the conventional method, stimulation of the body’s qi is carried out via bending, retreating, and reinserting by the acupuncturist or practitioner. But in the case of, electronic acupuncture the tiredness of the acupuncturist is drastically lessened, thus letting him/hear treat many patients at the same time.
Electronic acupuncture equipment basically consists of an a.c. signal generator transformer connected to various output jacks with at least one pair of probes. The instrument should have a plug to use any of the output jacks, permitting choice amongst different frequencies and wave shapes of electrical current; so as to allow personal adjustment and gauge the signal height at each output jack. A timer feature provides automatic switch off of the instrument according to preset therapy time.
At present, there are many kinds of products and brands of this electronic acupuncture instrument. Self-portable, hand-held
electronic acupuncture device in one of these kinds that comprises of:
• hand-held cover with an external surface casing,
• probe to provide current to the skin,
• coil spring for slanting the probe out of the corresponding casing,
• detecting electrical current supply,
• remedial current supply (with adaptable tone or relax mode),
• switch construction for discerning supply of detecting or healing current to chosen probe,
• contact members on the exterior of the casing that finishes the electrical circuit of the device, and
• switch control.
Research carried out on electronic acupuncture just proves the devices striking advantages over the traditional needle acupuncture.
The conventional
needle acupuncture
primarily comprises of inserting the needles into the many pre-determined treatment or acupuncture points. But this aspect of the whole process consists of the kind of ailment being cured and is quite invasive.
Also, placement of the needles is quite troublesome, very crucial for both the acupuncturist and patient. The current research indicates, a normal treatment point is just ½ mm across (around 1/50th of an inch). Also the degree of expertise needed in searching acupuncture point is very high. Even the smallest or tiniest mistake of judgment or placement can lead to a missed actual point and thus reducing the efficacy of the treatment.
Normally, expert and accurate needle acupuncture can give over a 90% healing effectiveness. But the treatment can be further effective if it is given to the patient regularly for a certain number of weeks. Daily treatment is practically impossible for most of the people, as high-quality treatment is expensive and given over a longer period of time. Also nobody would like to be punctured with needles daily.
