Exercise is one of the major keys to good health. But with people working or studying long hours, advent of television and laziness, exercise has been ignored by many, often resulting in weight gain or health problem. To combat the problem of lack of exercise, it is possible to purchase exercise at home. Working out at home has many advantages like working out in the privacy of your home, exercising at your convenience while watching your favorite television programs. Besides if you are unfit or obese, you do not have to be ashamed of wearing tight-fitting clothes for your exercises. There are no endless waits in the queues to access the machines or use the equipments.

But getting quality equipment can be costly. Hence give a careful thought before going in for the purchase. Here we offer some tips on how to buy the equipment.

· Check out the facilities available to you like gym, club, YMCA or any facility offering memberships. Take the membership and find out which of the equipments that you love. Do not surrender to the high pressure sales pitch used by the marketing personnel unless you have not finalized the machine of your choice.

· Use the equipment belonging to others for some time. This will allow you to use your machine more comfortably. You need not spend time on mastering the maneuvers of the machine. If you enjoy using the machine only then you can purchase one for yourself.

· Visit a store showing various models and brands of the machine you are interested in. Gyms use good quality, heavy equipment, but the machines meant for home users are light and badly made. Ensure that you can do the full range of motions without hiccups or else you will not enjoy using it. You can skip all the electronics on the machine but ensure it is smooth and sturdy.
