Get your Pet Vaccinated
Your pet dog may be very active today and it may appear that this healthy lifestyle of his will never be disturbed. But there are few diseases which can disrupt your pet’s health and can even be fatal. To avoid any such conditions, you must approach your dog’s vet in order to get him vaccinated. Here are a few vaccines that you must consider.
In case your puppy is suffering from sudden loss in weight with diarrhea and also convulsions and vomiting, then he might be
suffering from Parvovirus infection
. Adequate medical intervention is needed or else the condition may be fatal as it affects the bone marrow, intestines and even the immunity.
Another infection that should be looked out for is Rabies. This is a very serious condition and once it sets in, there’s no cure. For this very reason, it is better to have your dog vaccinated against rabies as this will help your dog to produce antibodies in response to any similar future infection.
Bordetella and Distemper vaccines are some other vaccines that you have to consider thereby making sure that you keep your pet out of harm’s way. Bordetella can be acquired in kennels and day care establishments and thus is also known as kennel cough. Although there is a cure, it is better to be safe, than sorry in such cases. Distemper, on the other hand is a very severe infection, and is picked up by one dog by the excreta of the other. A very high fever of 104 degrees with depression, diarrhea, convulsions, vomiting and pus in the eye should put you on your guard. These symptoms can lead to convulsions and muscular spasms if untreated.
Considering the number of complications that an unprotected dog can be exposed to, it would be a wise choice to vaccinate your pet and be at peace.
