HPV and Warts

There exist more than 140 various kinds of the human papilloma virus, HPV, and most of them cause warts. The HPV's responsible for warts are different from those responsible for cancer, while some other strains of HPV are quite harmless.

It is difficult to predict the effect the human papilloma virus on us, as not everybody suffering from the human papilloma virus will suffer from warts or cervical cancer. You can easily claim that despite many people being infected with any of the strains of HPV will not experience any kind of problem.

Warts normally occur on the fingers and hands, as this virus is highly contagious. Hence it is recommended that you wash hands regularly. Warts can also affect other parts of the body such as the mouth, the feet, genitals and rectum. It is regarded that about half of the sexually active population can suffer from genital warts, making it one of the one of the most common forms of STI.

The actual cause of human papilloma virus is not known and there is no known cure that offers protection against those responsible for warts. So besides washing hands, there is no protection against or reduction in the risk of virus infection. Even your doctor is helpless in averting the spread of HPV infections, responsible for warts, but can cure them once they become evident.

Warts are caused by various types of strains of the human papilloma virus, and so there are various kinds of warts as well as cures that work for one or the other.

Certain warts can be effectively treated by using natural or over the counter treatments, while others require a long time. in these instances, it is advisable to consult a doctor.

Warts can also recur at the same area, so despite eliminating them, there is no assurance that they will not recur. But the new wart might be caused by a different strain of human papilloma virus and so might not be cured by the same remedy as was used for the earlier one.

To remove the wart or not is your personal preference, as it is not dangerous. But if it is painful or is present in the region where it is aggravated by rubbing against clothes or other body parts, it is advisable to remove them. Except that, the removal is an issue of looking good.
