Hemroids Treatment and Cure
Hemroids
(hemorrhoids) are present within all of us, inside the anal canal as 'anal cushions.' But when these anal cushions bulge they give rise to what is normally known as 'piles', hemroids or hemorrhoids. At times, they can become as big as a grape. Though some people consider hemroids to be varicose veins, they are not. Hemroids may be prickly, annoying, painful and usually cause bleeding in the anal region.
There are two types of hemroids - internal and external. The causes for both are same, although not one theory for the causes of hemroids has been proven. Few of the causes include: exerting pressure at the time of bowel movement, eating a low-fiber diet, or extreme toilet time. Some genetic causes may also be responsible or hemroids can occur due to side effects of disease (like cancer.) Internal hemroids form within the anal canal, and may get very swollen and heave because of the stools that they ultimately bulge out from their usual area. There are 4 kinds of internal hemroids, based on the gravity :
1)
First degree hemroid - present on the lining within the anal canal. They usually bleed, but are not seen out of the anus.
2)
Second degree hemroid – highly enlarge to a very big size than the above, and protrude out from the anus at the time of opening of the bowels; but can, expand later on.
3)
Third degree hemroid – just like second degree hemroid, but do not go back into the anal canal by themselves and must be forced inside physically.
4)
Fourth degree hemroid - protrude from the anus but impossible to push back internally. They can be very inflamed, and very painful. In worst case can even lead to gangrene if not treated immediately.
External hemroids may be very painful and form as lumps from the anus. A painful anal bulge can occur if blood clots are present within them (also called as thrombosis.)
Hemroids, internal or external, may need surgery if their condition worsens. Hemroid remedies comprise of Banding (a little elastic band kept over the hemroid, to cut off the blood supply to the hemroid and let it die and drop off after some days) or Sclerotherapy (just like Banding, except an injection is given that shrinks the hemroid and drop off.) More severe remedies comprise of surgical removal.
Self-help methods for averting hemroids can comprise of a dietary change (like eating more fibers) and drinking plenty of water (to help soften bowel movement.) There are also various calming creams and ointments sold at the local drug store. Suppositories do also work. But most of these medical products simply ease the hemroids but do not cure them. Hence many natural therapies have been proved to very effective for healing hemroids, by using creams and ointments prepared from natural components. They are usually lot cheaper, and much more powerful.
