Holiday Car Hiring Tips in Spain

We love to go on holiday to break the monotony of our daily life. So when we pick up the car as soon as we land in the holiday destination, we expect to have a relaxed, trouble-free holiday. There are many car rental agencies offering their services at the airport and Spain is no exception.

But the car hire brokers on the Internet offer their cars far cheaper than the car rental agencies at the airport. So it becomes very important to read carefully their terms and conditions. You may find some discrepancies like if they promote fully inclusive insurance, the fine print may exclude quite a few things. You should remember that anybody who offers a fully inclusive insurance package does not cover many things. So if you are in Spain, had hired a car and are unaware of the fine print, you are liable to pay for the things not covered under insurance.
These conditions form a part of some Spanish car hire agreements.
Fully inclusive insurance need not cover tyres, wheels, windows and at times the underside of your car.

If you hit a kerb and damage a tyre, you are liable to replace it. If someone broke a window and stole the stereo, you may have to pay for the window. If you run over a manhole cover or serious bump in the road, (which is frequent in Spain) and dent the underside of the car, you will be held responsible. Sometimes you may have to pay extra for any harm caused to the car by somebody else but cannot be proved.
You may have been to Spain quite a few times but did not face any problems; you may do away with additional payments. But it is better to know what you are in for before picking up the holiday car from the airport.

In short, read the fine print on the Spanish holiday car hire agreement. Fully inclusive does not guarantee everything is included for all situations. In case, if untoward event happens, you may have to pay extra.
