How To Build Muscle Fast
The principle of progressive overload forms the basis of building muscle. It means, you must keep on increasing the resistance used, if you want to grow your muscles. The results are the same, irrespective of whether you use free weights, resistance bands or a Bullworker type exerciser like the Bully Xtreme. But attempting to lift increasing weight at every single workout will be the decisive factor in developing muscles.
You can increase the amount of resistance placed on a muscle in the following 3 ways:
1. Increase the number of reps with the same weight every time.
2. Increase the weight, while keeping the number of reps constant.
3. Keep the number of reps and weight constant, but reduce the rest periods between sets.
First 2 are frequently used methods of increasing resistance, so as to build muscle. Either use higher resistance and/or increase the number of reps.
Gigantic Muscles
One of the best methods to increase muscle size and strength is to include Isometrics in your training program. However, they are not the normal isometrics. This Isometrics is with a difference, known as “Post Isometric Contraction.” (PIC).
What does it mean?
As compared to regular Isometrics, where you perform one repetition and hold it for 7-10 seconds, here you use all the advantages of strength training. Here you perform your normal exercise, e.g. bench press, normally for about 9 repetitions. However in the final rep, i.e. number 10 you hold the contraction for a count of 10 or 10 seconds.
Why to do it?
In the first 9 repetitions, your chest muscles have been prefatigued. Now to help the muscle to hold the contraction in the 10th rep it has to use more muscle fibers.
What does it all mean?
This is the way to go, if you want to see results faster than otherwise possible. The results are stupendous.
