How to Buy a Handycam
Technology is making progress in leaps and bounds. But all of it comes at a price. In the case of handycams, so much technological advances have occurred that any buyer must sit back and consider what features he ought to have and what features he can do without. This is the first thing to be considered.
Say, for example, a buyer may want to record landscapes and wildlife essentially. For him, buying a handycam with face recognition technology is nothing but a waste of money, time and technology. On the other hand, he can choose a handycam which has features which suit his shooting style. This, I repeat, is a very important requisite and should be thought of intensely.
Once you’ve decided what kind of
handycam
you are looking for, you should think in terms of two important components of the camera - the audio and the video components. Many handycams come with varying optical zooms, shutter speed and recording qualities. Based on what kind of videos you plan to shoot mainly, you need to decide on these aspects. Similarly, recording audio is an equally important aspect and technology such as zoom mic also exists which should be bought only if your require it and not otherwise. Some handycams offer stereo mic which are quite sensitive, so much so, that they end up recording unwanted sounds of the operator such as clicking buttons etc.
Apart from this, other aspects such as the LCD touch screen size, recording formats – DVDs, mini DVDs, Hard Disks etc need to be considered in order to obtain the maximum results out of your handycam.
