How to Improve Credit Score Quickly

Today everybody is worried about their credit score. Lenders and credit bureaus have clearly stated that either the new VantageScore model or the FICO score model, is an integral part of deciding if they would give you a credit or not. The score acts as a filtration of various factors that constitute a consumer's credit history and gives a lender a bird’s eye view if the prospective borrower is suitable for the loan.

A high credit score increases the chances of a consumer to get a loan, and will also decide if that loan will be given at a preferential interest rate. The best interest rates are offered for those having the best scores, and those having lower scores have to pay higher interest rates and fees. Due to this, many people want to know how to increase their scores, and there are many companies interested in giving advice on that topic at a charge.

But one thing that everybody can do to raise their credit score is simple and free – pay bills on time. Though it is both simple and clear, a history of making timely payments f bills is valued by the creditors. This is because the decision about whether or not to give a loan is partly decided by whether or not the lender desires to be repaid. Likelier the consumer repays; difficult it is for them to default.

Historically, how a person pays the bills constitutes about 35% of the credit score. Over 1/3 of the score is decided if the borrower paid the bills on time or if they were actually paid. No other constituent comprises as major a part of the score, and not without reason – lenders want money back. The simplest and cheapest way to begin bettering a credit score is to make a determined effort to make timely payment of bills. Even paying a minimum payment on time is better than paying whole amount late. As online bill paying becomes a norm, it is difficult to schedule automatic bill payment, which can be useful for those who are not totally organized and can forget at times.

This is one instance where the most effective solution is also the cheapest, and is free. If you want to improve your credit score, ensure your bills are paid on time.
