	Is it wise for children to have a cell phone

Today, many shops selling cell phones have sprung up in various shopping complexes. They offer kids various attractive designs, beautiful graphics, catchy plates and antennas which flash different colored lights when different callers call. These features are of great interest to the teenagers, who are hooked to the cell phones. The number of children hooked to the cell phones is increasing day by day.

Parents encourage their children to go in for the cell phones due to their ability to remain in touch constantly. They can connect to their children anytime they want. Also the kid can remain in touch with the world, his friends, emergency services and family. The GPS Location Sensitivity allows the easy tracking of the child in case of emergency within the 10 feet of the location of the phone.

But this has given rise to some problems too. The school lecture is disturbed by the incessant ringing of the cell phone. The bathrooms and hallways in the school have children loitering about talking in loud voices on their cell phones. Besides, the cameras fitted to the cell phones have encouraged the use for other wrong activities. To overcome this problem, the school authorities have started confiscating the phones during the school hours and returning it back at the end of the day.

The solution to the problem is to put the phone on silent or vibrate mode, when in the public places. But this is easier said than done. If you are wearing a belt you will know very easily when the call comes. But this is not possible for many women as they do not wear belts. Hence keeping the phone in the silent or vibrate mode will mean they have to keep on checking the phone frequently to look out for any missed calls. So women are left with no choice than to keep their mobiles in the ring mode.
