Italian Food

Though the word “Italian food” conjures up the images of pizzas, spaghetti and lasagna, in the minds of many, in truth, Italian food has a lot more of traditional and modern recipes. The major advantage of Italian food over foods from other parts of the world is its healthy composition. It uses many healthy constituents like legumes, vegetables, grains, nuts and fruits. Italian dishes provide improved health and vigor for you. They lower the risks of heart diseases and cancer and help in keeping good health. Also lasagna and spaghetti are some of the most delectable and most popular Italian dishes.

Made from pasta, cheese and meat-sauce layers, lasagna is one of the most reputed Italian dishes eaten throughout the world. Lasagna is generally made from pasta or noodles; either freshly made or made the day before and then softened. The meat sauce is normally made from ground beef, tomatoes, pork sausages and a blend of pasta sauces. Molten cheese too is added. Other constituents used in making lasagna are onion, garlic, salt, pepper, eggs, mozzarella cheese, red pepper and marinara sauce with wine. The distinct feature of lasagna is its layers. A layer of sauce is put in a baking pan, followed by layers of pasta or noodles, mozzarella cheese and lastly a layer of sauce. Little shredded cheese is also laid on the top. The entire preparation is then covered and baked till the cheese starts melting. The preparation is then left to stand for 10-15 minutes prior to serving. Chilling the noodles overnight before making the lasagna lets the flavors to sink in better, thus making it tastier.
