Jamaican coffee is one of the priciest, elegant and highly desired coffees in the whole world. It is cultivated in the Blue Mountains of Jamaica and nurturing is done by the 'Coffee Industry Board.'. Jamaica blue mountain coffee is an internationally recognized trademark, meaning the coffee certified by the 'Coffee Industry Board of Jamaica' can only call itself as such.

The primary eligibility for calling itself called Jamaican coffee, the beans must grow above 2000 feet and generally, the Jamaican coffee plantations are cultivated above the height of 5000 feet throughout the region. Higher the height of plantation, the more expensive, valuable and demand of the coffee becomes. The most ideal Jamaica coffee is roasted in a pan on open fire.

Rich and savory are the adjectives used by coffee connoisseurs to describe Jamaican coffee. This coffee has low acidity, slightly sweet and strong fragrance. This coffee sells at $45/pound in the coffee shop. In Jamaica, its price ranges from $15 - $25 per pound. The Jamaican coffee includes High Mountain Supreme, Jamaica Prime and Jamaica Select. Jamaican coffee is a king amongst all the types of coffees in the world. Though Italian coffee is widely used, Jamaican coffee is the most desired. However it is unaffordable to average coffee lovers.

The Jamaican Coffee has helped the Jamaican government by boosting its revenues due to rising exports. Other nations have tried to cultivate similar coffee plantations, but they have failed to match the standards set by original Jamaican coffee.
