Japanese Hair Straightening
If you have unruly, frizzy, or very curly hair and are looking out for easy to maintain, trouble free, shiny and straight hair; go for the "Japanese Straight Perm". This method was invented in Japan and is becoming popular very quickly in US. It is called by various names, but basically it is a thermal reconditioning service. It can magically transform your hair provided you get a trained and experienced stylist.
The treatment lasts for around 6 hours. Your hair is shampooed, heated with very hot heat lamps, blown out, flat ironed and then the entire cycle is repeated. It leads to completely changing the texture of your hair, making it smooth, sleek and glossy.
The total cost of this process is $750 inclusive of tip and a large bottle of shampoo and conditioner meant for your new hair.
The hourly rate varies from $80 to $100. Keep your hair dry for at least 72 hours after the treatment.
Repeat the treatment when the new hair growth becomes noticeable, which is anywhere between 6-12 months. The time frame depends on the rate at which your hair grows and amount of straightness you want for your hair. Even after 6 months, your hair remains smooth and shiny.
When looking out for the right salon for your treatment, you need to consider some factors. First and the most important point is determining the straightening product used. Liscio is the best straightening product, followed by Yuko. If the salon uses any other product, find out about the reputation of the product and use it only if it is good.
The stylist treating you should have a lot of experience. Look at the before and after pictures, depicting the work of the stylist. This will let you judge the skills of the stylist. The third important point is to inform your stylist about previous hair coloring or processing. Your stylist will then alter the treatment to give you excellent results.
Do not buy expensive shampoos and conditioners. Instead, choose good quality, gentle shampoos and intensive conditioners. You get the same quality results as the expensive ones.
Protect your hair from the harsh, damaging UV rays of the sun. Use any UV protective hair product. Color your hair after couple of months or as per your stylist’s recommendations. If possible, use the services of the stylist trained directly by the company inventing the system. This ensures the stylist has been trained correctly and told about getting the best results immediately. This reduces the risk of damaging the hair or shoddy job. Use internet to get a list of salons close to your home with their qualifications. This will save your money and hair. If you have long hair or hair that can be de-curled with great difficulty, the treatment will be expensive. For longer and curlier hair, the cost and the time for finishing the treatment will be higher.
