Las Vegas Vacation Tips

Las Vegas has one of the topmost vacation destinations not only in US but also all over the world. It offers a wide variety of entertainment choices for different types of visitors. It is located in the southern part of Nevada in the arid Mojave Desert. Casinos that are lining the Strip and the Fremont Street Experience in the downtown attract a lot of tourists. However Las Vegas offers a lot more.

Casinos on the Strip offer not only gambling but also other types of entertainment. There are nightly shows or outdoor extravaganzas that act as a bait to attract tourists to their slot machines and poker tables. The Bellagio is an exquisite outdoor fountain display that goes off at least once every hour. There is a fine art gallery and beautiful flower garden inside it. The Mirage has a white tiger den and dolphin habitat that you can view by paying a small fee.

The night shows of Las Vegas are famous all over the world for their dazzle and cost. Cirque de Soleil is one of the most popular ones and occurs at some hotels/casinos with each show being visually different from the others. “O,” at the Bellagio, is a water show that honors the charm of theater. “KÁ,” at the MGM Grand is a combination of acrobatics, martial arts, pyrotechnics, and puppetry and shows the nature of duality. “Mamma Mia!” at Mandalay Bay, the Blue Man Group at the Venetian, and the Tournament of Kings at Excalibur are the other popular shows.

The buffets in Las Vegas have established their reputation for offering exotic food at unbelievable prices. The Bellagio, Paris, Aladdin, and Rio offer some of the best buffets. But stay away from dinner, which costs $30 per head while the lunch is available for nearly 50% of the price.

The Fremont Street Experience, located off the Strip in downtown Las Vegas, is a mall that goes out 5 blocks westwards. It is characterized by a huge canopy of 4 blocks and the Light and Sound show that takes place each night at dusk. The Light and Sound has synchronized music, animations, live video feeds, and special effects and is a mandatory visual experience located above the high-tech overhead canopy. There are 10 casinos, 60 restaurants, various bars and lounges and numerous slot machines around the canopy.

Bear’s Best Golf Course nearly 20 minutes off the Strip is an excellent golf course. It has been designed by Jack Nicklaus and consists of 18 of his best hole designs on a single course. It is a challenging course, irrespective of your level and is also a boon for nature lovers due to its greenery and sky, offset against the desert surroundings.

The Lake Mead National Recreation Area offers plenty of outdoor activities throughout the year. The big lakes let you participate in watery activities like swimming, fishing, boating, or sunbathing. Besides hikers and photographers can enjoy the beauty of the desert and the exotic flora and fauna respectively.

Though many people prefer hotels on the Strip, there are various vacation rentals where you can stay. These are equipped with amenities and are excellent if you want to enjoy the privacy of the home but do not like all the razzmatazz of the casinos. If you love gambling, stay at the conveniently placed homes and condos near the Strip. If you want to have the best of both the world, there are homes off the beaten path. Whatever you are looking out for, you can be sure that Las Vegas offers you all that you desire.
