Memory Foam Mattress – The perfect Sleep Inducer

If you are among those, who toss and turn during sleep and complain endlessly about not having a comfortable sleep, then its time you changed to a memory foam mattress.

Memory foam mattress is a visco-elastic substance developed by NASA, primarily for astronauts for exit and reentry from space. Tempur-Pedic introduced it in hospitals and observed that its users had a more comfortable sleep. This is because the foam softens due to body temperature, thereby molding according to the body shape.

It gained popularity in a very short time mainly because the medical professionals recommended it to those suffering from backaches and bedsores. But the lower density mattresses have the tendency to react to the environmental temperature thus becoming very uncomfortable to sleep on.

If you are still apprehensive about investing such a big amount for a memory foam mattress, go for a memory foam pillow or a mattress pad. Few companies provide money back offers which may help. On a general scale, heavy people and those who sleep on their back should go for thicker mattresses while front sleepers should choose thinner mattresses.

Memory foam has its own evils, which is why NASA rejected it after few initial uses. Every foam emits some fumes, which could be hazardous in space. In domestic setup, these fumes get dispersed in the atmosphere very easily. Go for a foam latex mattress if you are still sensitive to such fumes.
