Nintendo Wii
Wii
is quite an impressive game. Its horsepower is not as great as its rivals, Microsoft and Sony. But the overall product is great, quite sleek, elegant, well-designed and has attractive look.
The Wii has great controller, small console and has a lot of potential yet to be tapped. But it has edge over its competitors, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 by providing something extra.
It has a blue light that is always off unless you want to insert or remove a disc. Though small, it is a useful feature and attracts the onlookers. Menu items are easy to use. You can add anything you want quite easily, since they enlarge and glitter when you move the pointer over them. But there’s a small rumble that happens when you move your mouse above a menu item. This sound simplifies the navigation with the Wii remote.
The system is more or less automatic. Though some people have had to do some amount of configuration with Wii to use it properly, many of them were saved from this problem.
Wii has made small fashionable. Its sensor bar is really a tiny thing, with length being lesser than15”. You can easily fit it above any television set, LCD and Plasma displays. Wii has quite a nice appearance but does not have any futuristic shine. The Wii is small, white, and easily fits into any entertainment setup.
The motor in the
Wii remote
is quite strong. There is a big difference in the motors of remotes of Wii and Xbox. The speaker is fitted within the remote and helps you to concentrate your attention completely on the game. The quality of sound is not on par with the professional sound system but is just enough to give you the feeling that you are actually playing the game.
The Wii is a very silent game console. As compared to Playstation 3 or Xbox 360, it is pretty mute. The only sound you can hear is the spinning of drive as the game loads. It is the only sound this console makes.
To summarize, the
Wii is pretty refined gaming console.
Though the exterior may not have perfect polish, the entire package is so well presented that one cannot help but be attracted by it. The Playstation 3 may be fast and powerful, but does not match the luxury of this little beauty.
