Prepare the soil for planting your daffodil bulbs by first adding some compost, then ascertaining that the soil is loose and has proper drainage. You can either make the flowerbed even or dig small ditches in the flowerbed.

Next step consists of actually planting the daffodil bulb. If you have dug the ditches, you can keep the daffodil bulbs inside them. Keep the distance between the planted bulbs uneven, since you don’t want to your flower garden to resemble a corn field.

You can also toss a few bulbs on the flowerbed. Then plant them at the spot where they landed. This way, you will get an uneven look that has a more natural appearance.

Though it may seem like a redundant statement, ensure you plant the bulb with the root side at the bottom and the pointed side of the daffodil bulb upwards.

Fall is the best time to plant daffodil bulbs. They require the chill prevalent in winter before they can start flowering in spring.

The best locations to plant the bulbs are the sunny portions of the garden. But since daffodils are quite resilient, so they will also thrive in shady locations.
