Sneaky skin cancer

In excess of a million-skin cancer cases are detected yearly, with a large percentage of the victims in the US succumbing to the disease. It is the most common form of cancer, with over a million people being diagnosed with it every year. Melanoma is the worst form of skin cancer and is incurable. It accounts for about ten percent of the skin cancer cases. Children are more prone to skin cancer since they are mostly out in the sun.

Everyone has woken up to the fact that it is a silent killer, which remains dormant and might surface only years after one are exposed to harmful ultra violet light. Even educational institutions are being instructed to spread awareness about this deadly disease. All forms of ultraviolet light are harmful, especially in summer. Sunburn should be avoided at any cost. The moment we see our shadow is of a smaller height as compared to our original height, we should know that the sunlight is too strong and we need to shield ourselves. Clothes that shield the skin should be worn and also protective headgear. Those who show apparent physical signs of being affected badly by sunlight are the ones at most risk. These people are more vulnerable than others. Irrespective of the weather, ultraviolet rays are always causing harm, sometimes not evident. Businesses dealing with tanning also produce ultraviolet rays and contribute to this harmful condition.
