Sunglasses Buying Tips
Sunglasses are major fashion accessories. A smart outfit is always complemented by a good quality sunglass. Besides, making you look good, a sunglass also plays an important role in protecting your eyes from the harsh sunrays. We give you some tips on how to choose the right sunglasses for you.
1)
Read the labels carefully to determine if the sunglasses provide total protection against UVA and UVB.
2)
Blue light can cause degeneration of retina, leading to loss of eyesight. This is called macular degeneration. Your sunglasses should be able to block blue light as much as possible. To ensure this, wear the sunglasses outdoor and look up at the sky. If the blue sky appears gray, the glasses can block the blue light. Find out about polarization, which is the filter, responsible for reducing glare.
3)
Choose the color of the lens as per your taste and comfort. Gray will not change the appearance of color. Orange-brown lens block UV rays as well as blue light thus providing maximum protection to retina. These lenses are good if you are suffering from macular degeneration. Green lens distort color far less than any other shades.
4)
If you plan to wear these glasses while playing, choose light-framed, plastic, unbreakable sunglasses.
5)
Wear sun goggles because they completely cover the eyes and the sides, thus offering total protection. Besides, you can wear them over your normal glasses.
6)
Do not be misled into thinking that dark lens offers higher protection or lighter lens provides better visibility. Read the labels carefully to find the level of protection and visibility offered.
7)
Purchase a UV card, which is a small card-like device used for testing the sunglasses. This will prevent you from being misled by the labels.
8)
Covering yourself with the hat of 3-inch brim will increase your protection.
