Tattoo has become one of the latest style statements for the youth. But once you get the tattoo done, erasing it is a painful method. But now some modern technologies are offering the solution to this problem. These technologies offer a painless way to erase the marks of the tattoo.

Two of the latest technologies used in removing tattoo are: Laser technology and Light-based technology. These technologies work on the light energy leading to the destruction of the ink. The atomic bonds of the ink are destroyed as the light is absorbed by the ink. As a result, the ink leaves your body by the process of filtration.

When beginning the treatment, the therapist will apply a gel to the area to be treated. This gel serves the dual purpose of providing the cooling effect to the treated area as well as acting as a conductor of light. Then a wand of light is held against the skin where tattoo is present and the rays of light are directed towards the tattoo that has to be removed.

The amount of pain experienced by the people will depend on the size and location of tattoo. Small tattoos on small skin surfaces will experience less pain than the big ones on the bigger areas.

But as compared to the other methods of removal, these two methods are relatively painless and more effective and hence should be considered first.
