Tips To Get Rid of Dog Odor

Dogs are one of the most favored pets, but at times they can disgust us with their awful smells. If you think or are aware that your dog smells bad, here are some tips that tell you how to make your dog smell fragrant again.

1) Remove the foul smell and then dry him completely: Dogs prefer swimming in any available water. Dry him completely with towels or a hair dryer with the lowest-heat setting on. If that is not possible, use any mouthwash. With a washcloth, clean the dog's coat, and then wash off or shampoo. If this doesn’t help, mix the mixture with little baking soda.

2) Look for sticky objects on his coat: Feces or other foul-smelling objects can be glued to the fur of the dogs. Observe his paws and area near his anus. To get a good look at his anus, shave the hair in the circular fashion near the region.

3) For bad breath, give him Greenies: These products are one of the excellent dog products, easily available in any pet store. If your dog is healthy but just suffers from bad breath, these will work.

4) Give him a regular bath, especially if he is outdoors a lot: With a gentle shampoo meant for dogs, bathe him after every 6 weeks or so. Then apply a nice conditioner or prepare your own by mixing baking soda in lukewarm water.

5) Ensure his diet is well balanced: Give him a balanced, premium dog food with wonderful aroma. Take care to see that this food isn’t spoilt or turned moldy. Check out the expiration date on the dog food packaging before buying it.

6) Check his ears: Ear infections frequently cause bad smells. Ensure there are no discharges, foul smells, strange colors or insects in his ears. Treat infections immediately.

7) Clean your home as well as his belongings: Doggy odors can remain on the carpets for a long time. Clean them with an enzyme cleaner like Nature's Miracle if he accidentally did potty on them.

To make your home highly aromatic, sprinkle baking soda on the carpet, leave overnight and vacuum clean in the morning. Wash his bedding and his clothes with a little baking soda mixed with your detergent powder. Adding a little white vinegar to the rinse water will also help. However remember that older dogs and unsterilized males emit strong odors.
