Tips to Build Muscle Mass

Everything in your life will generally have two ways to success- the short route and the long one. However quick result yielding the short path may seem, it is always better to take the longer route. You may have to put a lot of effort in it, but the results will be very impressive. The same applies to body building as well.

Many people cheat themselves and in the bargain throw away a lot of money in buying steroids, which hasten the muscle building process unnaturally. They may show huge biceps and chest muscles bulging out in a relatively shorter period of time but let that not tempt you into doing such foolishness. Although steroids may build up your muscle mass rapidly, there are other associated adverse effects, which are seen in due course of time. From shrinking of the testicles to myocardial infarction, steroid abuse can cause many side effects. So it is only wise to stay away from them.

Once you join a gym, make up a schedule to follow and focus on a particular part or region of the body on that day. And in the beginning, provide a day’s gap for the muscles of that region to recuperate. This will give them chance to grow. Also, while doing weights, it is better to do slow and steady repetitions, less in number with heavier weights in order to gain muscle mass. In case you are looking for a lesser bulk and more definition, do relatively lesser weights for more reps.

On the nutrition front, many protein supplements are available commercially. My advice is to supplement your body with the required proteins from your diet itself. Have more of pulses and other sources of proteins and reduce or skip carbohydrate rich foods like rice.

Body building can be quite an addiction, but don’t let it get to you. Make sure you prioritize what you want and how much. And remember, drugs are not the answer to a great looking body.
