Treatments for Dry Hair
 
 

Healthy hair is a sign of beauty as well as your health. Dry hair is thin, rough and is prone to tangles, damage, breakage and split ends. If you suffer from dry hair, it is important for you to replenish the oil and the moisture in the hair. This can be achieved by using a right conditioner for your hair. Strong cleansing methods, dry toning exercises and massaging scalp increases dryness and flakiness of the scalp. Avoid using strong shampoos if your hair is dry. Apply oil liberally and massage thoroughly before washing your hair. Regular shampooing harms the dry hair. If your hair lacks moisture, use a moisturizer.

Follow the following home remedies for dry hair.

The Cleanser:
- Beat an egg in a cup of skimmed milk. Once the foam is consistent, rub it properly in the scalp and keep it on for 5 minutes. Now wash your hair thoroughly with water. Repeat this process 2 times a week.

- Add 3 tablespoons of gram flour or a tablespoon of shikakai to a cup pf coconut milk. Rub it in your scalp and massage gently. Wash after 5 minutes. Repeat this method once a week.

- Make a Protein Conditioner Beat consisting of a tablespoon each of castor oil, glycerin, cider vinegar, protein, and mild herbal shampoo. Apply this mixture on the scalp and keep it for 20 minutes. Remove with clear water.

- Massage Oil/Toner: Add a teaspoon of lavender essential oil with a bottle of castor oil or coconut oil. Warm it slightly and rub it gently in the scalp at night. Wash or shampoo your hair in the morning. Repeat this process twice a week.

Besides, the other tips for treating dry hair are:

- Find out if your scalp lacks moisture or oil.
- Wash and condition your hair regularly.
- Do not comb, brush or massage your hair roughly, if your hair is very dry.
