Foot warts
are a kind of warts affecting the base of the foot. It is around 1cm in diameter and is comparatively paler than the surrounding skin, with small black dots in the middle.
Foot warts tend to gather together into clusters. As it is located at the base of the foot, this wart is usually quite flat.
Sometimes it can lead to pain due to the regular pressure exerted on them while walking. Moreover due to this constant pressure, it is likely to grow back within the foot.
A foot wart also called as plantar wart is medically called as 'verruca plantaris' or simply 'verruca’.

human papilloma virus
(HPV) is responsible for foot warts. This virus also causes other kinds of warts. The human papilloma virus enters your skin either through little cuts or scratches.
But this virus is also contagious hence you might suffer from foot warts by contacting this virus from another person. Objects contacted by another person carrying this virus can also be infectious.
The human papilloma virus thrives in damp and warm places. So bathrooms and swimming pools are great places for this virus to thrive. It is advisable to take proper care and as far as possible avoid walking bare feet in these places.
Also if you suffer from this kind of warts avoid scratching it and then touching other parts of your body. Take extreme care to avoid scratching it with your other foot as it can also raise the prospects of obtaining a foot wart on your other foot too.
