The government and the courts have adopted certain measures to ensure the protection of privacy of all. The courts have passed order to law enforcement agencies, prohibiting them from accessing any GPS tracking details. They can only use this information if the cell phone company decides it is crucial or in the national interests. The government has permitted GPS tracking information only for e911 emergency calls. In other cases, it is mandatory to obtain the authorization from the cell owner.

The advantages of GPS technology in mobile phones can be used properly only by following the rules and regulations laid down by the courts and the government. Then it is possible to use the technology for its benefits without violating anyone’s privacy.
