The joys of television have now made their presence felt on home PC's, thanks to the advent of PCTV cards. PCTV cards are either present inside the PC itself or are in the form of a separate box, which is connected to the USB port of the computer.

If you possess a computer whose processor generation is before that of the P-2, it might not be compatible with satellite TV. Other pre-requisites are Windows 98 or Windows XP, an unused USB port and a decent sound card. To view content over a larger variety of platforms, don't forget to install software like Real player and quick time player.

You can use Hauppauge 3000, Internet cable or a satellite box to connect the computer to the satellite dish. If you opt for Direc TV or Dish TV, try to use their satellite TV receiver box, as far as possible since it is more convenient.

If your PC has capabilities of displaying TV channels, radio stations. Checking email, typing documents and downloading multimedia content, then it is a powerful combo.
