Worm Fishing

There are two types of people who go fishing. One, who are there just to spend some time with closed ones and have a good time, irrespective of whether they catch any fishes or not. The other kind of people, take this more seriously than you would have thought, and for such types, here’s a proficient way to increase their catch.

Worm fishing is all about using live worms as baits. But it is not restricted to that. The way you hook the worm also makes a lot of difference, and this is where a pro gets an edge over the amateurs. Generally, one would take an average size of hook, say size 4, and put the worm through it and wait for a fish to bite. This may seem effective, but it is not as effective as presenting the same worm in gang hooks.

To begin with, gang hooks are nothing but two hooks, generally of size 8 – 10, which are tied together. How does this make a difference over a single hook? Two hooks allow the worm to appear as if it is floating in water and not hooked on to a fishing line, thereby increasing the chances of a fish biting the bait.

Generally, you can pick up these gang hooks off the internet or maybe from your nearby fishing store. But if you can manage to acquire a sufficient knowledge of knot tying techniques, you may never need to visit these places to buy the same. One main point being, ensure that the hook you choose is relatively small or else the appearance may not appear quite normal.

Rest assured, once you learn to imbibe this technique while fishing, on a regular basis, you will definitely be a step higher than your contemporaries.
